HEPS1: How important is it to have a range of family planning methods available?
BACKGROUND
There is a wide range of methods that can help
you with family planning. Although they are all effective, there are
also big differences between them: some methods are permanent, some of
them are temporary. Some of them have to be used by the man, others by
the woman.
People may prefer a specific method for any number
of reasons. Some methods can be considered more convenient. Sometimes
there are medical reasons to prefer one to the other.
However,
not all methods may be available to you. It could be that your local
health centre doesn’t have them in stock. Other hospitals may decide not
to offer certain methods on religious grounds.
We would like
to know how important it is for you and your partner that your local
health facility offers a range of family planning methods.
