Child abuse is when a parent, caregiver or any person whether through action or failing to act, causes injury, death, emotional harm or risk of serious harm to a child. There are many forms of child maltreatment, including neglect, physical abuse, sexual abuse, exploitation, and emotional abuse.Child abuse is a common in every part of Uganda. A Ugandan maid has been sentenced to four years in jail for assaulting a toddler, in a case which sparked outrage across the country after a video was released. Child abuse is common in most parts of Uganda.
