What is the major cause of domestic violence in the rural areas of West Nile?

BACKGROUND

Over the past 6 months, cases of domestic violence in the West Nile have increased as witnesses in reports from the Local Councils contacted in 50 different Villages of Zumbu and Arua. 

Domestic violence is defined as ‘‘the range of sexually, psychologically and physically coercive acts used against adult and adolescent women by current or former male intimate partners’’

The increase in domestic violence has been linked to several social-economic factors.

We are therefore asking
